The Crown

There are, of course, always doubts whether we see facts or fiction in this series, perhaps a perfect balance of both, but it is definitely intriguing to see what happens behind the scenes in the lives of one of the most famous royal families. In season 1, young Elizabeth and young Philip are perfectly portrayed by Claire Foy and Matt Smith, and show how the relationship of the couple must survive. The series continue with a star-studded cast and excellent performances that keep you locked to the screen.

You is about the obsessive Joe Goldberg, which is played by Penn Badgley, who you might recognize from his role in Gossip Girl. He falls in love with Beck, a girl who he meets in a store, and from there on, the series continue in a mind-blowing couple of episodes. This story will seriously have you hooked. Just know that this knotty, twist-heavy and sometimes outrageous show is perfect if you’re in the right frame of mind for it. Somehow, this show even makes you feel a little for a character that is extremely toxic.

Drive to Survive

Formula 1 fan or not, this show is a must-see if you want to get a look behind the scenes or on the paddocks, as you could say. Each season of Drive to Survive follows the previous season and gives you a full run-down of what’s going to come in the current and next season. From controversies to memorable races, and even emotional moments for the drivers, this series will make you fall in love with the sport. There’s so much more to F1 than drivers in their extremely fast cars.

Squid Game

Squid Game is Netflix’s biggest TV show ever, breaking all kinds of records in 2021, and cashing a lot of income from just 10 episodes. Besides, it also shows that it’s going to take a lot of effort from future projects on Netflix to claim the throne that Squid Game is currently sitting on. This South Korean drama comes from the mind of director Hwang Dong-hyuk, and follows a group of indebted citizens invited to risk their lives in a mysterious survival game. 

Stay Close

Stay Close is a Harlan Coben adaptation on Netflix and it follows a small group of people who all have their dark secrets that they can’t seem to get rid of. When they hear some shocking news, the lives of three characters changes forever. Megan, played by Cush Jumbo, tries to hide her past when she was known as Cassie, and that’s when her past catches up with her now.

La Casa de Papel

This show is a thrilling heist drama take is based on a group of criminals who are brought together by an eccentric character named “the Professor”, whose mission is to rob the Royal Mint of Spain. La Casa de Papel keeps you on your toes with plenty of plot twists and backstories about the main characters in the show. The performances are amazing too, which will blow your mind, just as the smart storyline.

Emily in Paris

Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, is a marketing executive from Chicago, who moves to Paris for her job. At first, it is a scary move, but soon, she gets accustomed to the city of Paris. She enjoys it to the fullest with the food and fashion, except what keeps her on her toes are her colleagues. Will she be able to survive it there, or will she move back to Chicago? This is a show full of clichés surrounding Paris, but it will sweep you off your feet with the gorgeous scenes and of course the light-hearted comedy.

Lupin

In the show Lupin, the story follows the life of the charming thief Assane Diop, played by famous actor Omar Sy. His mission is to get revenge on the wealthy family Pellegrini, who are responsible for the wrong imprisonment of theft for his father, who worked for them. This show is filled with plenty of questions you ask yourself, but also with plot twist that will make you want to watch all the episodes in one go.

The Queen’s Gambit

Portrayed in the 1950s, this story follows Beth Harmon, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who is an orphan who learns to play chess. Soon, she dominates the chess scene, but unfortunately, this is her path to self-destruction as well, as she has to deal with drug abuse and romance too. A thrilling show that will have you surprised after having seen every single episode.

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, which follows the life of outsider Devi, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. After a tough year in her personal life, all she wants is to become popular at school, and for life to be a little easier. However, everything goes wrong for her while she makes the wrong choices every time. With an amazingly diverse cast, his show is a joyful, comedy-drama, and sometimes even relatable. Definitely a recommendation if you’re looking for a lighthearted show to watch.

Maid

After getting out of an abusive relationship, Alex, played by Margaret Qualley, continues her life as a single mother with her daughter. Not too long after, she finds a job to clean houses, but unfortunately, this doesn’t always go well as she has to deal with repellent work, low pay, and what not. On a quest to provide a carefree life for her daughter, Alex has to go through many hurdles, and exactly this keeps you hooked on to the series.
