Dermatologists Advise the Use of Aloe Vera for These 7 Things

Aloe Vera: a green plant, that needs only a little water, light and attention. So it’s ideal if you don’t have ‘green fingers’. There’s also a good chance that you, or friends and family, have the plant in the house. It’s a huge bonus that it also looks very nice in the living room: on a table or on a window sill.

The reason this plant is so popular, is because it’s very good for your health. For example, if you have trouble sleeping, you could put an Aloe Vera plant in your bedroom. Why? The plant cleanses the air, so there will be a lot of clean air in your room and you will rest more and sleep better.

Aloe Vera Has Anti-Inflammatory Qualities

Insect bite cream
Sometimes, cream to treat insect bites is not enough to alleviate the itching. Apply a little bit of Aloe Vera to the spot that itches, and before you know it the itch will be gone. This is because the plant has anti-inflammatory qualities.

Acne gel
Aloe Vera contains salicylic acid, which can help clear blocked and inflamed pores. If you have a lot of acne, you should use a combination of aloe vera and a skin care product recommended by dermatologists.

Make-up remover
Squeeze a small amount of aloe vera gel from the plant, put it on a cotton bud or pad and rub the make-up off your face without any trouble. Do make sure to test it on your arms or legs first, before putting it on your face. You don’t want to risk walking around with a rash on your face.

Squeeze the Cut Leaf Gently, So That the Aloe Gets Directly on the Sunburnt Skin

This is the most famous trick, but you can use the leaves of the plant to soothe the pain of a sunburn. Cut a leaf from the plant, squeeze the fluids out and rub a large amount over the sunburnt skin. Another option is to cut a part of the leaf and rub the ‘open’ side over the sunburnt skin. Squeeze the cut leaf gently, so that the aloe gets directly on the sunburnt skin.

Shaving foam
Did you forget to buy shaving foam and are the stores closed or are you just in a hurry? Don’t panic! Aloe Vera is the solution. The smooth texture and hydrating powers of the plant make it a good alternative. Squeeze the fluid from the leaf, rub it on your legs, bikini line or under your armpits and you can start shaving. Don’t forget to rinse the parts you saved.

Here’s Why You Should Always Have an Aloe Vera Plant in the House

Hair mask
Apply aloe vera to your hair before showering, so that your hair looks shiny and nourished after the ‘hair mask’. Do you often have greasy hair? Then mix 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice with a little bit of water and aloe. Apply it to your hair, leave it in for a while, rinse it and then wash your hair with shampoo.

Foot cream
Dry feet? Or do you even have cracked heels? Mix 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with a little bit of oatmeal, cornmeal and unperfumed body lotion. Apply the mixture to the feet, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse. Before you know it, your feet will be soft again.

I really didn’t know that Aloe Vera was so versatile. All of these are practical tips that I’m going to use for certain. First I need to go buy and Aloe Vera plant though. How about you, what is your favorite above-mentioned tip? Anyway, don’t forget to share the article with your friends and family on Facebook and your other social media channels!
